Everything Changes

Good, Bad, Otherwise

Oh Hi! It has been a minute hasn’t it?

The thing about this blog is that it can be a sense of joy, connection, and fulfillment, but at times also a burden to maintain. Especially when I get too in my head about it. Now let me warn you early on here. This is going to be a text heavy post, and a little vulnerable. So if you want a little update, here you go! If you want just quick recipes or meal plans, stick around, those will come later.

In December of 2024 I had the pleasure of welcoming my first child into the world, 2 weeks early and an absolute surprise all around by being a girl when we 100% thought we were having a boy (we waited until birth to find out the gender). And honestly postpartum was a challenge. A December baby plucked us right into cold and flu season, plus it being the coldest darkest time of the year made for a bit of a bleak experience for me. Fast forward to July of 2025 and I was laid off from a job I really loved and were I thought I could be for a long time. Bit of a whiplash moment on top of a challenging postpartum… you could say I wasn’t doing too hot.

Blessings can come in disguise and although I am genuinely joyful most of the time to be home with my child, it is not without it burdens and challenges. In the year that’s followed I have felt profoundly lost. Trying to balance what I thought my career would be, to what is currently, and all the in between. I have had serious blows to my ego and having to constantly pivot on what seems right for me. But also in that time I get to experience this constantly evolving creature that is my child and be amazed by every milestone. I have started crafting new products and selling those creations, and I have been cooking some really fun meals.

So I am going back to being old school with this blog. Where I use it a bit like a digital diary. For me to look back on maybe from a better place, and remember all I did to get there. As always, this blog is for the every person, and you may relate to my journey too or just enjoy some meal inspiration. But just incase you need a refresher on who I am (because maybe I do too). I am a mom, wife, Chemical Engineer who does food product development, everyday chef, crafter, creative and I NEVER EVER use AI for anything.

Stick around…could be fun!
